Four Disc Golf Inventions You Didn't Know You Needed
I won a used Yeti as a door prize at a tournament. It was by far the most uncomfortable disc I have ever thrown. Who puts a bead on a wide-rimmed driver.
Is it just me or does the last one look like unuse ©0nd0m
The durability test made me think of what if he compared the rebound of each generation? Like a bounce or deflection off of a surface?
On another note I bet they are probably some of the most fun guys to be out on the course with 🤙
This is the fist video found of this channel and I’m subbed now, I love these guys
I'd love to try your discs. However, they are all too heavy for me. :(
thank you for this format. so great.
6/12
Yall ever think about making dayglow green?
Can you make day glow green disc?
Make as many generations with like 5 disks keep going untill gen 50 or somthing fails
I appreciate that you sound exactly like Dustin at Smarter Every Day. I have no doubt that you know exactly who I'm talking about. Thanks for giving me the reasons not to get into disc manufacturing.
Yeah “perfect” just gotta ignore the color 😂 btw wouldn’t the sharpie be a contaminate affecting the color is could it be something else?
Mega Impressive, thanks for taking all of your time to produce this. As the director of the Flying Disc Museum, knowing how these things are built can provide additional insight. Thanks again!
I want one! Great job! :) have a great day
As a material science professional and 10 years of disc golf we don't have to wait for the future we want-we can create it right now as that the future is often framed through the lens of the future rather than the present, fantastic idea making it come to life! Great video…
do you sell hats @trashpanda?
Inner core plastic with a wood overmold? I'd like to see that. Please.
Of the 12, just the Griffon. No clue on the other 11.
I have some of these discs, they are flippy AF and janky at best. "Accelerator contours", "Draft technology" ... marketing gimmicks if you ask me :)
So many people want something made yet seem to believe we can just do it with everything set up no matter what it is "I want this thing wielded onto that thing with a bit mating it together... It's just a wield so it must just be 30 mins labour..." So... We set up the workspace get tools set up the wielder (possibly needs a change of gas/wire/rod/tip.. but that's spread across many jobs)... prepare part 'A' for wielding prepare part 'B' for wielding make part 'X' to fit both part 'A' and 'B' wield the parts in such a way that it doesn't heat warp either and stays aligned once wielded then there's sundries... Power (lights, wielder etc) gas wielding rod/wire nuts/bolts/tape/PTFE etc office worker (someone is going to put it in writing and send you a bill) my time.... my expertise "You only hit it with a hammer... I could have done that".... "Yes, Hitting it with a hammer... FREE.... Knowing WHERE TO HIT IT.... $$$$$" (I have actually charged someone for hitting something with a hammer... of course I also showed them why, and showed them how to prevent it needing to be hit again). and then there's all those other tools, screw drivers, pliers, cutoff saw, hammer... big hammer.... really really big hammer (ok a hydraulic press)... and some tools we haven't used... but had to buy just in case... and you only want 1.... so then I pack it all up again... and clean the workshop... and the other rooms (ok we don't clean anything.. it's a mess but we love it)... Oh and feed the 4 sparrows that fly in the dock way door and sit on a box beside me loudly cleaning their beaks on the box as they realised that gets my attention (the blackbird used to stand on the tin diesel heater... and if I paid no attention... shuffled his feet.. If looks could say words.. the birds look would say... "WELL?... I'm Waiting!" (At least a cat may give you a smooch before disappearing. and theres a million devices out there that need fixing... Next time you rock up with that kamakooza you got from Ebay and want it fixed.. think about this.... You didn't buy it from me.. I've never seen one before... no one in the country (except maybe me) can fix it... so NO... it won't be a 3 second fix with a part I magically have on the shelf.. but that's ok... Take a month to pay, then say that the invoice got lost, please re-email it... so you can pay another month later... because I couldn't possibly remember that next time your ... what was that word my dad used.. while looking at some broken thing in disgust... oh yeah... "Plastic!" thing needs to be fixed. (Uhhh is it just me or did that turn ugly.... Meh ) q8)
WHAT DISC
Gen 3-10 looks like condoms ngl
Impressive for sure, but it look more like 50-60' imo
Wait, so I guess I get that thin to thick just makes the injection and the clamp work harder or use more energy that you would if you go from thick to thin. Does that mean that Disc making machines and molds somehow are more expensive than let's say a bowl making machine and molds, because of the force needed on both components to get the plastic to move without letting it spill on the other end? Just curious, and great video btw. Def subscribed after this one.
Any suggestions on courses in out there! I’ll be in Colorado in September and plan to disc golf as much as I can. I’ll be near vale for most of the trip but willing to drive like an hour and a half for a course
Love that Wingspan made it into a disc golf video! Uniting two of my loves!!
Played here 3wks ago! Loved it! Bagged my longest drive.
I gotta be honest, it’s killing me that I have no idea what’s happening, you guys are just throwing into forests and then a basket appears. Not a big fan of Robbie too, but I love the channel tho.
This course is an all time favorite! Have to try Arapahoe Basin next ;)
Portable baskets are still called Chings here. Also, Scott Stokely nowadays has the license to produce the discs...and they're not anymore made in China. It's just the mold :-D
Haha lake Dillon! My home course for a while. Frisco is also a gem, hopefully you got Robbie over there too
i feel like that "failure" sounds like orange dont starve
“no prodigy?” yes. no prodigy. no one needs that in their bag
sick combo of great people!
I like how Dennis was there too 🤣🤣 I want to see Trash Panda x RobbieC upshot disc like Polecat!
Fun video! Great questions and answers all around! totally agree with the answer to the last question lol
Mr. Stokely is the #1 ambassador for disc golf! His heart is bigger than anyone else in the sport. "Disc golf IS for everyone." What an amazing human. Jessie too is an amazing and inspiring man who defies the laws of tradition and will not be denied. ❤ U both!
I brought my roller disc and I hole to hole 14 it was actually stable. This course is crazy and I need to play it again in the summer. Fun drive down during the ski trip.
My starter set comes Wednesday:)
3:05 what this highlighted is that people who arent as good can be better than players who are more naturally talented which is annoying
then basing the metrics of success on the time you put in, when if they put in that time, they would have same stats, is obviously correlated...
Robbie C singing that STYX!?! Oooooooo baby i can dig
What disc is that top secret?
Where is this course? Booking a flight now.
I feel for Robbie. My first ever day at elevation was spent hiking the Highland Bowl in Aspen. I will always remember being able to taste blood in my mouth thinking I was going to die. Boston to 12,392 ft in 24 hours 😵
My answer to the last question is I want disc golf to be a high school sport in Colorado! As a teacher who disc golfs with other teachers. It would be fun to see it grow with more kids playing.
Welcome to disc golf at its finest, where discs don't work as intened and nothing makes sense. Still some of the best disc golf on the planet.
Completely agree! My home course for 17 years was on top of Ajax in Aspen. Starting elevation on Hole 1 is ~11,200, and with my noodle arm everything in the bag was super understable which translated to neutral or slightly overstable up there. I miss mountain disc golf right out of my home.
When do we get to know about the top secret secret
Been throwing a MVP uplink -3 for my unstable mid, Moved to 7500 feet now its my straightest flying disc.
Did he say “as the Chicks say” and then quote a Fleetwood Mac song?
He sure did......jesse please edit a correction
Pretty sure he is referencing the Dixie Chicks cover of Landslide. I’d definitely prefer if he referenced the Mac, but that’s just my older guy music pedant coming through.
